What you'll do

As a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer at Relativity, you will lead the design and development of tooling and fixtures for the Terran R rocket production — your role is critical in ensuring that manufacturing processes are efficient and effective. You will collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams to identify needs and translate them into innovative design solutions that enhance production capabilities.

You will be responsible for creating detailed engineering drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and SolidWorks — your designs will be used to manufacture critical components that support the assembly of rockets. You will also conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.

Your role will involve working closely with the manufacturing team to ensure that designs are practical and can be implemented effectively — you will participate in prototype testing and validation to refine designs based on real-world feedback. You will also be involved in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance tooling and fixture designs for better performance and reliability.
