Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, particularly in the aerospace sector — you've been involved in the full lifecycle of product development, from concept through to production. Your expertise in AutoCAD and SolidWorks allows you to create detailed designs and simulations that meet rigorous industry standards. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex engineering challenges. You understand the importance of testing and validation, ensuring that designs are not only innovative but also reliable and safe. Your problem-solving skills are complemented by a strong attention to detail, allowing you to identify potential issues before they arise. You are passionate about aerospace technology and are eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects that push the boundaries of what is possible.
Desirable
Experience with avionics systems or similar technologies is a plus, as is familiarity with regulatory requirements in the aerospace industry. A background in rocket or spacecraft design would be highly beneficial, as would knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes relevant to aerospace applications.
What you'll do
As a Senior Avionics Mechanical Design Engineer at Relativity, you will be responsible for designing and developing the mechanical components of the avionics systems for the Terran R vehicle. You will collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components. Your role will involve creating detailed design specifications and conducting simulations to validate your designs. You will also participate in prototype testing, analyzing results, and making necessary adjustments to improve performance and reliability. Additionally, you will contribute to the documentation of design processes and specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Your work will directly impact the success of the Terran R vehicle, helping to deliver customer payloads to orbit and advance the future of space exploration.
What we offer
At Relativity, you will join a dynamic team that values creativity and technical rigor. We offer a competitive salary range of $138,000—$178,000 USD, along with opportunities for professional growth and development. You will have the chance to work on cutting-edge technology in a collaborative environment where your contributions are recognized and valued. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't match every requirement, as we believe diverse teams build better products.
