5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale β you've designed and maintained high-throughput services that directly impact patient care and have navigated the complexities of healthcare technology.
Deep expertise in Java and Spring β you've developed robust backend applications that handle millions of requests efficiently and understand the nuances of service architecture and performance optimization.
Experience with REST APIs β you've built and integrated APIs that facilitate seamless communication between various components of a healthcare platform, ensuring data integrity and security.
Strong problem-solving skills β you can troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems and have a track record of implementing effective solutions that enhance system reliability.
Excellent collaboration skills β you thrive in cross-functional teams, working closely with product, design, and data teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet user needs.
A proactive approach to learning β you stay updated with the latest technologies and best practices in backend development, continuously seeking ways to improve your skills and the systems you work on.
What you'll do
Join Ro's Patient Experience team as a Senior Backend Engineer, where you'll design, build, and maintain backend services that support patient onboarding, care management, and insurance verification workflows. Your work will empower clinical and non-clinical team members to respond effectively to patient needs, scaling Ro's patient-centric healthcare model.
You will lead initiatives from ideation through design, implementation, and maintenance, contributing to the evolution of Ro's technical architecture. Collaborating closely with product and design teams, you'll ensure that the solutions you develop align with user needs and business goals.
As a senior member of the team, you'll help define and lead the technical roadmap, mentoring junior engineers and sharing your expertise to foster a culture of learning and growth within the team.
You'll also have opportunities to partner with security, care operations, clinical, and legal experts to ensure that the solutions you develop meet the highest standards of compliance and security in healthcare.
