Who you are

You are an experienced legal professional with 7-10 years of expertise in insurance regulatory law — you have a deep understanding of state and federal regulations and compliance requirements that impact the insurance industry. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are skilled at providing legal advice to senior management and business teams, ensuring that they are well-informed about the implications of regulatory changes.

Your background includes drafting and reviewing regulatory responses, contracts, and insurance-related documents — you are meticulous in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. You have experience assisting with regulatory investigations and inquiries, demonstrating your ability to navigate complex legal landscapes effectively.

You are proactive in monitoring legislative and regulatory developments at both the state and federal levels — you provide strategic advice on how changes may impact business operations, helping your organization stay ahead of the curve. You enjoy working closely with internal business units such as product development, compliance, underwriting, and claims to ensure that regulatory requirements are met while achieving business goals.

Desirable

You have a strong network within the insurance regulatory community and are familiar with the latest trends and challenges facing the industry. Your ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner is a key asset, allowing you to build trust and credibility with stakeholders across the organization.

What you'll do

In this role, you will provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on a wide range of regulatory issues affecting SageSure’s operations within the insurance industry. You will advise senior management and business teams on the implications of changes in state and federal insurance laws and regulations, ensuring that the company remains compliant and well-positioned in the market.

You will draft and review regulatory responses, contracts, and insurance-related documents, ensuring that all materials meet legal standards and regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in assisting with regulatory investigations and inquiries, where you will represent the company’s interests and navigate complex legal challenges.

You will collaborate with various internal business units, including product development, compliance, underwriting, and claims, to ensure that regulatory requirements are integrated into business processes. Your role will involve monitoring legislative and regulatory developments, providing proactive advice on how these changes may impact business operations, and helping the organization adapt accordingly.
