Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in product design and engineering, with a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to take products from concept to mass production. Your expertise in industrial design is complemented by a hands-on understanding of customer needs, which you have developed through direct engagement with users in their environments. You are proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD and Figma, and you have a keen eye for detail and aesthetics that enhance user experience.
You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that design and engineering efforts align with business goals. Your ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable design decisions sets you apart. You are passionate about creating products that not only meet user needs but also contribute to the sustainability and efficiency of physical operations.
What you'll do
As a Senior Product Design Engineer II at Samsara, you will lead the design and engineering of innovative products that leverage IoT data to improve operational efficiency. You will be responsible for the entire product design process, from initial concept through to mass production, ensuring that each product meets high standards of quality and usability. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define product specifications and design requirements.
Your role will involve conducting user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs. You will utilize data-driven insights from our telemetry data cloud to inform your design decisions, ensuring that products are not only functional but also user-friendly.
