Job Description

Who you are

You are an Industrial Designer with a strong background in shaping physical forms and identities of products. You possess both an artist's eye and practical skills, allowing you to sketch ideas, model shapes, and create physical prototypes. You have experience collaborating with engineering teams, particularly in mechanical and naval engineering, to ensure that design aesthetics align with functional requirements. You thrive in a hands-on environment and are comfortable transforming concepts into manufacturable designs that reflect the company's design language. Your creativity is matched by your technical skills, making you a valuable asset to any design team.

Desirable

Experience with maritime systems or similar industries is a plus. Familiarity with advanced modeling software and prototyping techniques will enhance your contributions to the team. A portfolio showcasing your design process and final products will be beneficial during the application process.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the physical form of next-generation maritime systems, including hulls, deck structures, enclosures, and payload modules. You will work closely with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure that your designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and manufacturable. You will engage in brainstorming sessions, sketching ideas, and developing prototypes that embody Saronic's design philosophy. Your role will involve iterating on designs based on feedback from engineering teams, ensuring that all functional requirements are met while maintaining a strong visual identity.

You will also participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss project timelines, design challenges, and collaborative opportunities. Your ability to communicate design concepts clearly will be essential in these discussions. As you develop your designs, you will utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Blender, and SolidWorks to create detailed models and technical drawings. You will be expected to stay updated on industry trends and innovations in design and manufacturing processes, applying this knowledge to enhance your work.
