You have a strong background in industrial design with a focus on creating user-centered products — your portfolio showcases your ability to translate ideas into functional designs. You possess excellent visual communication skills, enabling you to convey design concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your experience includes prototyping and testing designs with users, allowing you to iterate based on feedback and improve the overall user experience. You are proficient in CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and Fusion 360, which you use to create high-quality models that communicate your design intent clearly. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside engineers and scientists to bring innovative products to life. You are passionate about design and eager to contribute to a team that values creativity and functionality.
Desirable
Experience with 3D printing technology is a plus, as is familiarity with the medical device industry. A background in user experience design can enhance your contributions to the hardware user experience.
What you'll do
As a Senior Industrial Designer at Formlabs, you will be responsible for designing new products from initial concept through to production. You will develop design concepts that are not only visually appealing but also functional and user-friendly. Prototyping will be a key part of your role, as you will create everything from quick mockups to refined cosmetic models. You will conduct user testing to gather insights and translate those results back into your design process, ensuring that the final product meets user needs effectively.
