Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in marine engineering, particularly in propulsion and auxiliary systems. Your experience includes analysis, design, and production support of fluid, power, and thrust-generating systems for unmanned surface vessels. You understand the importance of system architecture and machinery arrangement, and you are skilled in selecting and procuring components that ensure the success of your systems from concept to production.
You are detail-oriented and have a deep understanding of the mechanical components integral to autonomous vessels, including prime movers, drivetrains, thrusters, pumps, valves, and sensors. Your focus on efficiency, safety, and reliability drives your work, and you are committed to enhancing the performance of below-deck systems critical to vessel operations.
What you'll do
In this role, you will take ownership of the design and integration of propulsion and auxiliary systems for autonomous vessels. You will collaborate closely with design teams to ensure that all components are arranged and integrated effectively. Your responsibilities will include conducting thorough analyses to optimize system performance and reliability, as well as providing production support to ensure that systems are built to specification.
You will be involved in the entire lifecycle of the systems you design, from initial concept through to production support. This includes working with various stakeholders to ensure that all systems meet the necessary safety and operational standards. Your expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during production, ensuring that the final product meets the high standards expected in the maritime industry.
