Skydio is hiring a Flight Test Intern to assist in validating the next generation of drone products. You'll focus on hardware and software validation during the prototyping phase. This role is ideal for those looking to gain hands-on experience in flight testing.

Who you are
You are an enthusiastic individual eager to dive into the world of flight testing and validation. As a Flight Test Intern, you are ready to engage with complex systems and contribute to the development of innovative flying platforms. You possess a rigorous approach to testing and are excited about the opportunity to work in a cutting-edge technology environment.
You may have some experience or coursework related to engineering, robotics, or a similar field, and you are keen to apply your knowledge in a practical setting. What you'll do
In this role, you will create and run smoke and regression tests to validate system confidence, ensuring that the prototypes meet the necessary performance standards. You will run and optimize existing test plans to align with the latest features, tracking performance metrics across hardware builds to identify any limitations early in the development cycle. Your feedback will be crucial in improving product performance and market fit.
You will assist in the collection of flight data for competitive benchmarking, generating substantial amounts of logged flight data and media that will be used for analysis and improvement. This hands-on experience will provide you with insights into the complexities of flight testing and the operational capabilities of autonomous drones.
