Who you are
You have a strong background in UI/UX design, with experience in validating user interfaces and ensuring usability in real-world applications. Your understanding of embedded systems and mobile engineering allows you to effectively evaluate the performance of control software in flight-critical scenarios. You are detail-oriented and capable of identifying edge cases that could impact user experience. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-functional teams to enhance product usability and customer satisfaction. Your analytical skills enable you to design and execute comprehensive testing campaigns that assess the effectiveness of new software features. You are passionate about technology and its application in enhancing user interactions with autonomous systems.
Desirable
Experience with drone technology or aerospace systems would be a plus, as would familiarity with flight operations and testing methodologies. A background in software development or engineering principles can further enhance your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
In this role, you will plan and execute UI/UX validation campaigns for new software releases and features, ensuring that the human-machine interface is intuitive and reliable. You will design and run operator-in-the-loop flight tests to evaluate usability and decision support during real-world operations. Your responsibilities will include validating mobile and controller UI performance during both live and simulated flight operations. You will create and automate smoke, regression, and sanity stress tests to ensure software reliability. Collaborating with mobile, embedded middleware, design, and other software hardware teams, you will expose edge cases and uncover usability risks that could affect customer experience. Your work will directly impact how users interact with Skydio's autonomous flight systems, shaping the future of drone technology.
