Skyryse is hiring a Systems Safety Engineer to ensure the safety and certification of their innovative flight systems. You'll work closely with engineering teams to apply rigorous safety processes and assessments. This role is based in El Segundo, CA.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in systems safety engineering, with experience applying safety assessment methodologies such as ARP4761. You understand the importance of functional hazard assessments and have a keen eye for detail when it comes to ensuring system integrity and safety.
Your expertise includes conducting fault tree analysis and failure mode and effects analysis, allowing you to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. You are comfortable working with multifunctional teams to implement safety architecture strategies and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
What you'll do
In this role, you will support the application of ARP4761 to the Skyryse system, conducting functional hazard assessments and system safety assessments to ensure that all components meet safety requirements. You will perform fault tree analysis and failure mode and effects analysis to identify and address potential safety issues.
You will collaborate with engineering teams to integrate safety considerations into the design and development process, ensuring that all systems and subsystems are designed with safety as a priority. Your work will involve preparing evidence to demonstrate safety capabilities to regulatory agencies such as the FAA and DERs.
