You have a strong background in safety engineering, with experience in leading cross-functional efforts to perform safety analyses and identify potential hazards. Your analytical skills allow you to assess safety risks both qualitatively and quantitatively, ensuring that safety is prioritized throughout the design and development of autonomous vehicles. You are familiar with developing safety goals and strategies, and you understand the importance of compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. You thrive in collaborative environments and can effectively communicate safety strategies to various stakeholders, including regulatory authorities and lawmakers.
Desirable
Experience in the autonomous vehicle industry or related fields is a plus. Familiarity with safety standards and regulations applicable to autonomous driving technology will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team. What you'll do
In this role, you will lead efforts to conduct safety engineering analyses, identifying potential hazards and their causes. You will assess safety risks and support the definition of safety requirements for the Waymo Driver. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will promote safety strategies and policies for autonomous vehicles, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. You will also engage with external stakeholders, including lawmakers and public organizations, to advocate for safety in autonomous driving technology. Your contributions will directly impact the safety and reliability of Waymo's autonomous ride-hail service, helping to save lives and improve access to mobility.
What we offer
Waymo offers a competitive salary range of $196,000—$248,000 USD, along with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity incentive plan.
