Waabi is hiring a Systems Engineer specializing in Safety Methodologies to develop and implement safety frameworks for autonomous trucking solutions. You'll work with cutting-edge AI techniques and real-world data in San Francisco.

You have a strong background in systems engineering with a focus on safety methodologies — your experience includes developing safety frameworks that ensure the reliability of autonomous systems. You are passionate about self-driving technologies and have a knack for solving complex problems, which drives your innovative approach to engineering. You thrive in collaborative environments and can effectively work across functional boundaries, ensuring that safety is at the forefront of product development.

You possess advanced skills in data science and machine learning — your expertise allows you to analyze and interpret complex datasets, which is crucial for validating safety measures in autonomous systems. Your experience implementing software systems components has equipped you with the technical skills necessary to contribute to the development of automated assessment workflows. You are detail-oriented and have a strong foundation in mathematics and statistical analysis, enabling you to create robust safety methodologies.

Desirable

Experience in launching a driverless product would be a significant advantage, as it demonstrates your ability to navigate the challenges of bringing autonomous technologies to market. What you'll do

In this role, you will spearhead the development and implementation of critical safety framework methods that underpin Waabi's driverless autonomy readiness decisions. You will scale safety framework methods by defining requirements for automated assessment workflows and partner with the autonomy and algorithms teams to implement and debug the evaluation infrastructure. Your work will involve creating evidence for safe operation, utilizing Waabi's highly realistic simulator and real-world data.

You will lead efforts in a rapidly evolving field, ensuring that safety remains a priority in the development of Waabi's autonomous trucking solutions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety methodologies, making adjustments as necessary to enhance the safety of the systems. Your contributions will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of self-driving technology, as you work to validate and ensure the safety of Waabi's innovative solutions.
