What you'll do

As a Senior Quantitative Developer at Smarkets, you will play a pivotal role in the Trading department, where you will be responsible for pricing a large volume of markets across various sports. Your primary focus will be on developing and refining algorithms that analyze market data, ensuring that our pricing remains competitive and fair.

You will collaborate closely with the Quant Trading team and the developer team to integrate your quantitative models into our trading platform — this involves writing efficient code in Python and Rust, optimizing performance-critical components, and ensuring that your solutions are scalable and maintainable.

You will also work with the Data Science team to analyze terabytes of data generated from multiple sources — your insights will help improve existing trading strategies and inform the development of new ones. You will be expected to conduct thorough testing and validation of your models, ensuring that they meet the high standards of accuracy and reliability that Smarkets is known for.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will contribute to the overall strategy of the Trading department — your input will be valued in discussions about market trends, pricing strategies, and the implementation of new technologies that can enhance our trading capabilities.
