You have 5+ years of experience in engineering management, particularly in database technologies, and have a proven track record of leading teams to deliver high-quality software solutions. Your deep understanding of PostgreSQL allows you to push the boundaries of what is possible in the cloud, ensuring that your team delivers a reliable and scalable service.
You excel at breaking down complex problems and building consensus across multiple stakeholders to reach scalable and timely solutions. Your ability to balance long-term strategic thinking with immediate project needs makes you an invaluable asset to your team. You are a problem solver and a problem finder, capable of building a roadmap while delivering on it.
What you'll do
As a Senior Engineering Manager at Snowflake, you will provide strong technical leadership across both the Postgres dataplane and the orchestration/control plane required to deliver a managed service. You will oversee critical aspects such as high availability, upgrades, backups, scaling, automation, and operational safety. Your role will involve collaborating with various teams to ensure that the architecture aligns with Snowflake's strategic goals.
You will be responsible for defining the architecture of the Postgres service, ensuring that it meets the performance and reliability expectations of developers. You will lead your team in implementing best practices for database management and operational excellence, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
You will also play a key role in mentoring and developing your team members, helping them grow in their careers while delivering impactful solutions.
