SoFi is seeking a Senior Risk Management Director to oversee risk types for their Big Business Banking products. This role requires deep expertise in commercial banking risks and collaboration with risk owners to ensure effective risk management.
Job Description
Who you are
You are an experienced risk management professional with a strong background in commercial banking risks. With at least 5 years of experience in risk oversight, you have a deep understanding of operational, credit, liquidity, fraud, financial crime, technology, third-party, and regulatory risks. You are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical skills, allowing you to identify, monitor, and mitigate risks effectively. Your ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including risk owners and product teams, is essential for success in this role. You are intellectually curious and continuously seek to improve risk management frameworks based on industry best practices. Your experience includes benchmarking against industry leaders and learning from past challenges to enhance risk strategies.
Desirable
Experience in a leadership role within risk management is a plus, as is familiarity with innovative financial products. You may also have a background in compliance or regulatory affairs, which would further enhance your ability to navigate the complexities of risk in the financial sector.
What you'll do
In this role, you will provide oversight across various risk types for all product and feature launches within SoFi's Big Business Banking division. You will partner closely with first-line risk owners to ensure that risks are appropriately identified and managed throughout the product lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing risk management frameworks that align with the company's growth objectives. You will also be tasked with conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. As a key member of the Second Line of Defense, you will play a critical role in shaping the risk culture within the organization. You will lead initiatives to enhance risk awareness and promote best practices across teams. Your insights will help drive strategic decisions and ensure that risk considerations are integrated into product development processes.
