Who you are

You have a strong background in backend engineering, particularly with Ruby on Rails, and have experience designing and implementing APIs that enhance user experiences. Your expertise in REST API design and integration ensures that you can create seamless connections between systems, making it easier for partners to access mental health services. You are familiar with standards like OAuth2 and OpenID Connect, and you understand how to apply them effectively in your work. You also have knowledge of healthcare data standards such as FHIR and HL7, which will help you navigate the complexities of mental health data integration.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to shape the developer experience. Your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly allows you to create comprehensive documentation, SDKs, and sample applications that empower developers to integrate with your platform. You are detail-oriented and committed to building clean contracts and stable interfaces that protect patient data and enhance the overall user experience.

What you'll do

In this role, you will own key platform APIs from the initial request for comments (RFC) through to rollout and monitoring. You will shape the partner developer experience by creating clear documentation, SDKs, and sandbox flows that facilitate easy integration with your APIs. Your work will involve building clean contracts and stable interfaces for critical functionalities such as identity verification, eligibility checks, scheduling, claims processing, and reporting.

You will collaborate closely with product teams to ensure that the APIs you develop meet the needs of both internal stakeholders and external partners. Your focus on simplicity will guide your decisions on when to leverage complex standards like OAuth2/OpenID Connect and FHIR/HL7, ensuring that you maintain a balance between functionality and usability. You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of the APIs you develop, making adjustments as necessary to optimize their effectiveness and reliability.
