Who you are

You have a strong background in equipment reliability engineering, with experience in developing and implementing maintenance strategies that maximize equipment availability. Your technical skills allow you to diagnose complex equipment issues and propose effective solutions that enhance system reliability. You are familiar with integrating IoT technologies into production environments, enabling real-time performance monitoring and predictive maintenance capabilities.

You possess a solid understanding of preventive maintenance tasks and have experience collaborating with machine operators and maintenance technicians to ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards. Your ability to analyze equipment performance data helps you identify risk-heavy assets and prioritize improvement plans effectively. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for developing comprehensive bills of materials (BOM) for critical spare parts, ensuring that production runs smoothly without unnecessary downtime.

What you'll do

As an Equipment Reliability Engineer at SpaceX, you will own the development and execution of equipment improvement plans aimed at maximizing production equipment availability. You will define and refine equipment reliability programs that include preventive maintenance tasks and the integration of existing equipment into SpaceX's IoT framework. Your role will involve designing and integrating new sensors onto machines to set predictive and condition-based monitoring triggers, allowing for proactive maintenance and minimizing equipment failures.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop engineering solutions that address reliability challenges and improve overall equipment performance. Your responsibilities will also include iterative design improvements based on performance data and feedback from operators. You will play a critical role in ensuring that SpaceX's production equipment meets the demands of the rapidly evolving space industry, contributing to the company's mission of enabling human life on Mars.
