SpaceX is hiring a Geographic Information Systems Analyst to manage and integrate Building Information Models into the GIS platform. You'll work with ArcGIS, Revit, and Civil 3D to support infrastructure planning and design. This role requires experience in geospatial platforms and collaboration with cross-departmental teams.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a strong background in Geographic Information Systems and experience managing Building Information Models (BIM) — your expertise allows you to effectively integrate BIM project work into GIS platforms. You are skilled in using software such as ArcGIS, Revit, and Civil 3D, and you understand the intricacies of geospatial data management. You thrive in collaborative environments, working alongside designers, engineers, and project managers to achieve common goals. You are detail-oriented and capable of developing workflows that ensure smooth integration of various models into the GIS system. Your ability to communicate technical requirements clearly to cross-departmental teams sets you apart.
Desirable
Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects is a plus, as is familiarity with utility management in GIS. You may also have a background in construction or facilities management, which enhances your understanding of the practical applications of GIS in infrastructure development. A passion for innovative technologies and a desire to contribute to projects that support humanity's exploration of space will resonate with you.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and updating campus maps, site plans, and individual building models as the needs of the business evolve. You will develop, coordinate, and manage workflows for the integration of BIM models into ArcGIS, ensuring that both in-house and contractor work aligns seamlessly. You will partner with various teams to define requirements for utility needs in GIS, laying the digital foundation for master planning efforts that will transition to design teams. Your work will directly support the planning, design, and analysis of infrastructure that enables SpaceX's ambitious goals.
You will also be tasked with maintaining 3D models that support spatial analysis and planning efforts. Your role will involve regular collaboration with elite designers and engineers, ensuring that all project work is accurately represented in the GIS platform. You will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure projects.
What we offer
At SpaceX, you will be part of a mission-driven team that is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of technology and exploration. We offer competitive compensation and opportunities for professional growth within a dynamic and innovative environment. You will have the chance to work on projects that have a real impact on the future of humanity, contributing to the development of technologies that will enable human life on Mars. Join us in our quest to make space exploration a reality.
