SpaceX is hiring a Facilities Technician to perform routine building maintenance and support campus-wide operations. You'll be responsible for tasks such as plumbing repairs, painting, and assisting with janitorial requests. This role requires 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance.
Job Description
Who you are
You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance. You are familiar with routine building maintenance tasks and can perform non-technical troubleshooting and repairs in various areas such as plumbing and carpentry. You are comfortable operating equipment like forklifts and lifts, and you adhere to safety guidelines at all times.
You have experience in construction and project management, which helps you manage campus-wide operations and maintenance programs effectively. Your ability to assist janitorial and hospitality staff with general requests showcases your teamwork and support skills. You are proactive in conducting inspections and repairs to ensure the facility remains in optimal condition.
What you'll do
As a Facilities Technician at SpaceX, you will perform routine building maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting and repairing plumbing systems, managing corrosion control, and handling carpentry requests. You will conduct site-wide maintenance, which includes painting, patching walls, and replacing ceiling and flooring tiles. Your role will also involve performing inspections and repairs to both the interior and exterior areas of the assigned site, ensuring that all fixtures and roofing systems are in good condition.
You will aid janitorial and hospitality staff with various requests, such as moving furniture and disposing of construction waste. Additionally, you will manage electronic work tickets on SpaceX’s work order system, tracking and resolving issues as they arise. Your responsibilities will also include operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts when necessary, ensuring that you follow all safety protocols while performing these tasks.
