Who you are

You are a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Specialist with a strong background in automation and control systems. You have experience with PLC logic, specifically with Allen Bradley and Siemens systems, and you are adept at optimizing system reliability and process stability. Your expertise extends to SCADA development, where you design and deploy HMI screens that provide operators with clear, actionable data. You are a problem solver who thrives on advanced troubleshooting, serving as the final escalation point for complex electrical and controls failures. You are familiar with network protocols such as Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP, and you have a solid understanding of VFD parameters and instrumentation loops. Your skills in loop tuning ensure that systems operate at peak efficiency and safety.

Desirable

Experience with water treatment systems or similar industrial applications is a plus. Familiarity with alarm management systems and a proactive approach to system optimization will set you apart. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to critical production targets.

What you'll do

In this role, you will lead the automation efforts for SpaceX's water infrastructure in Bastrop, TX. You will modify and optimize PLC logic to enhance system reliability and process stability. Your responsibilities will include designing and deploying HMI screens and alarm management systems using Ignition, ensuring operators have access to clear and actionable data. You will serve as the final escalation point for complex electrical and controls failures, diagnosing root causes across various network protocols and instrumentation loops. Your expertise in loop tuning will be essential in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our water systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that our water treatment processes meet critical production targets and adhere to safety standards.
