Who you are
You have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with experience in designing and developing structures, mechanisms, and automation equipment. You demonstrate extreme ownership of projects, managing them from initial concept through fabrication and production bring-up. You thrive in fast-paced environments, balancing multiple projects of varying scope and complexity. Your problem-solving skills enable you to tackle complex, open-ended challenges with a focus on speed of execution and impact.
Desirable
Experience with high-volume production processes and custom tooling design is a plus. Familiarity with satellite technology and production methodologies will enhance your contributions to the team.
What you'll do
As a Mechanical Design Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for designing the factory of the future, enabling mass production of satellites and high-performance space hardware. You will collaborate with flight design and production teams to develop the satellite, factory, and production processes in parallel. Your role will involve designing custom tooling and machinery that supports both manual and highly automated production processes. You will own high-impact projects, driving them from concept to completion on a time scale measured in months. Your contributions will directly influence the pace of execution and the overall success of the Starlink program.
