You hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline and have at least 1 year of professional experience in engineering roles. You possess a working knowledge of design, manufacturing, testing, and flight, demonstrating engineering intuition and critical thinking. You are comfortable working under ambiguous requirements with minimal oversight, showcasing your ability to tackle challenges across various products and subassemblies.
You thrive in collaborative environments, interfacing with both engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing and automation processes. Your experience allows you to evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration, ensuring that the optical assemblies meet the mission requirements of SpaceX's satellites. You are proactive in developing and refining manufacturing assembly procedures based on lessons learned, contributing to continuous improvement in production workflows.
What you'll do
In this role, you will manage the integration build flow and test operations for optical assemblies. You will evaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integration, working closely with upstream and downstream partner teams to drive improvements at the system level. Your responsibilities will include enabling day-to-day execution of product integration and test flow, as well as evaluating non-conformances to determine root causes and create actionable items for system improvements.
You will interface with engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing and automation processes, ensuring that the production of optical assemblies aligns with SpaceX's high standards. Your role will require you to tackle new inter-departmental development projects, contributing to the overall mission of enabling human life on Mars through innovative engineering solutions.
