Who you are

You have a strong background in mechanical engineering with a focus on launch pad operations — your experience includes addressing complex structural and mechanical issues while ensuring safety and reliability in high-stakes environments. You are proficient in using FEM software such as ANSYS and FEMAP, and you have a knack for applying rigorous hand calculations to facilitate design and issue disposition. Your ability to work collaboratively with technicians and engineers allows you to effectively troubleshoot and maintain mechanical systems.

You possess excellent problem-solving skills and a creative mindset, which enable you to develop innovative solutions for launch pad operations. Your attention to detail ensures that all aspects of launch pad ground support equipment are properly inspected, configured, and tested to meet Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy interface requirements. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to maximizing efficiency without compromising safety.

What you'll do

As a Senior Launch Pad Mechanical Engineer at SpaceX, you will serve as the responsible engineer for multiple launch pad mechanical systems and structures. You will utilize your multi-disciplinary knowledge to develop solutions that enhance launch pad operations. Your responsibilities will include directing a skilled technician workforce to carry out troubleshooting, maintenance activities, and upgrades. You will also contribute to the development and improvement of launch pad systems, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of space missions.
