You have a strong background in mechanical engineering with a focus on launch systems, bringing multi-disciplinary knowledge and creativity to develop innovative solutions for launch pad operations. Your experience includes utilizing FEM software such as ANSYS and FEMAP, allowing you to perform rigorous calculations and design assessments effectively. You are adept at troubleshooting complex structural and mechanical issues, applying engineering intuition to provide clear and actionable dispositions for challenges that arise. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with skilled technicians to ensure that all launch pad ground support equipment is properly inspected, configured, and tested to meet Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy interface requirements.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to direct and mentor a technician workforce effectively. Your ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities ensures that you can maximize efficiency without compromising safety or reliability. You are committed to continuous improvement and are always looking for ways to enhance operational procedures and maintenance activities on the launch pads.
What you'll do
As a Senior Launch Engineer, you will serve as the responsible engineer for multiple launch pad mechanical systems and structures, ensuring that all aspects of the launch pad operations are executed flawlessly. You will utilize FEM software to facilitate design and issue disposition, working closely with a skilled technician workforce to carry out troubleshooting and maintenance activities. You will contribute to the development and implementation of operational procedures that enhance the efficiency of launch pad operations. This includes preparing the pads for launch, ensuring that all ground support equipment is configured and tested to meet the stringent requirements of Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy launches. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve any issues that may arise during the launch preparation process, ensuring that safety and reliability are always prioritized.
