You have a strong background in aviation certification processes, particularly with the FAA, and understand the intricacies involved in obtaining supplemental type certifications. Your experience includes producing certification deliverables that comply with FAA regulations, and you are adept at managing tight timelines while ensuring quality and compliance. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with design and manufacturing teams to drive projects forward and ensure regulatory compliance throughout the hardware design cycle.
You possess excellent project management skills, allowing you to manage multiple certification projects simultaneously while maintaining a keen eye for detail. Your ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams ensures that everyone is aligned on project goals and timelines. You are proactive in identifying certification process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce overhead for future applications.
What you'll do
As an Aviation Certification Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for driving the certification process for Starlink's aviation projects. This includes producing various certification deliverables such as project-specific certification plans, test plans, analysis and substantiation reports, and operational documents. You will work closely with the FAA to ensure that all necessary documentation is prepared and submitted in a timely manner, facilitating the authorization of Starlink for flight.
You will also be tasked with managing the certification milestones and ensuring that all aspects of the design and manufacturing processes comply with FAA regulations. Your role will involve collaborating with engineering teams to address any regulatory concerns that arise during the hardware design cycle. You will continuously seek ways to improve the certification process, aiming to streamline future applications and reduce the time and resources required for certification.
