SpaceX is hiring an Automation & Controls Technician to support the Infrastructure Engineering team at Starbase. You'll work on automation and control systems for critical utility systems. This position requires experience with PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems.

Who you are

You have a strong background in automation and controls systems, with hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and maintaining PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications. Your technical skills are complemented by your ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive improvements in infrastructure systems. You are detail-oriented and organized, ensuring that all documentation for SCADA systems is meticulously maintained. You thrive in fast-paced environments and are eager to contribute to groundbreaking projects that support SpaceX's mission to enable human life on Mars.

Desirable

Experience with high-capacity infrastructure systems and a passion for space exploration would be a plus. Familiarity with troubleshooting and deploying automation systems in a utility context is highly desirable. You are adaptable and willing to travel to other SpaceX facilities as needed to support various projects.

What you'll do

As an Automation & Controls Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of automation and control systems for the infrastructure and utility systems at Starbase. You will support cross-functional teams on various projects, contributing to rapid and continuous improvements in the systems that power Starship's production and launch operations. Your role will involve deploying and troubleshooting standardized automation for critical power and utility systems, ensuring that they meet the high standards required for SpaceX's ambitious goals. You will also assist with control and automation upgrades to scale systems in line with production rate targets, and you will play a key role in commissioning, testing, and training for new automation projects.
