Who you are

You hold a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and have at least 1 year of experience in structures design, particularly in aerospace or related fields. You possess a strong understanding of design principles and are skilled in using NX for creating detailed component and assembly drawings. Your familiarity with GD&T allows you to ensure precision in your designs, and you have experience performing tolerance stack-up analysis to validate your work.

You are a collaborative team player who enjoys working across disciplines to manage interfaces and ensure proper clearances and fit-up. Your ability to apply first principles methodology and design for manufacturing concepts enables you to create innovative solutions for complex challenges in spacecraft and launch vehicle development. You are passionate about contributing to projects that advance human life in space and are excited about the opportunity to work on the Falcon and Dragon programs.

What you'll do

As a Structures Design Engineer at SpaceX, you will design and develop groundbreaking hardware for Falcon and Dragon vehicle upgrades and new mission profiles. Your work will involve using NX to create detailed component and assembly drawings, ensuring that all designs meet the necessary specifications and tolerances. You will be responsible for overall CAD integration and hardware packaging for vehicle systems, managing cross-discipline interfaces to ensure proper clearances and fit-up.

You will collaborate with your team and partner teams to contribute to the successful flights of Falcon and Dragon, applying your engineering expertise to support both new development and existing vehicle fleets. Your role will require you to generate Interface Control Drawings and perform tolerance stack-up analysis to validate designs. You will also have the opportunity to work on innovative solutions that push the boundaries of aerospace engineering, contributing to SpaceX's mission of making life multi-planetary.
