What you'll do

As a Mechanical Design Engineer on the Falcon team, you will lead the design of various components and systems for our reusable launch vehicles. This includes developing structures that can endure the extreme loads experienced during launch and re-entry. You will be responsible for the entire product life cycle, from initial concept through to production, ensuring that all designs meet rigorous safety and performance standards.

You will collaborate closely with other engineers and departments, including propulsion, avionics, and manufacturing, to ensure that your designs integrate seamlessly with other systems. Regular interactions with senior leadership will be part of your role, especially during critical design phases where your insights will help shape the direction of projects.

Your responsibilities will also include conducting thorough analyses to validate your designs, using both simulation tools and physical testing. You will document your work meticulously, providing clear reports and presentations to communicate your findings and recommendations to the team.
