You have 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a strong background in managing and optimizing network infrastructures. Your expertise includes designing secure systems and improving network performance based on system metrics. You are familiar with deploying networks to sensitive environments, including Top Secret datacenters, and have a solid understanding of network security protocols and best practices. Desirable

Experience with in-space mesh networks or satellite communications is a plus. Familiarity with government contracting and compliance standards will help you navigate the unique challenges of this role. You are proactive in identifying areas for improvement and have a track record of implementing successful network enhancements.

What you'll do

As a Senior Network Engineer at SpaceX, you will drive the operation, build, and deployment of the Starshield service provider network. Your responsibilities will include managing and expanding network interconnections, co-location sites, and points of presence (POPs). You will monitor network performance and reliability, utilizing system performance metrics to inform capacity planning and optimization strategies. You will also be responsible for proposing and implementing continual improvements to enhance network capabilities and support additional customers.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the network infrastructure meets the needs of critical national security missions. Your role will involve troubleshooting network issues, enhancing security measures, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the design of next-gen communication and sensing software, making a direct impact on the future of space exploration and national security.
