Overview

SpaceX is seeking a Manager for Starship Build to lead production teams and manage assembly processes. You'll oversee up to 120 technicians and ensure quality and timely delivery of rocket engine hardware. This role requires strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Who you are

You have extensive experience in managing production teams, ideally in a manufacturing or aerospace environment. You possess strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a diverse group of technicians. Your background includes a solid understanding of production processes and metrics, allowing you to effectively monitor and improve performance. You are adept at identifying risks and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, ensuring that production schedules are met without compromising quality or safety. You have a proactive approach to resolving non-conformance issues and are committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement within your team.

What you'll do

As the Manager of Starship Build, you will lead and manage a staff of up to 120 technicians across multiple shifts. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the modification, repair, assembly, and integration of production assemblies, ensuring that all targets for on-time delivery and quality are achieved. You will manage the complete production process within your designated area, enforcing safety protocols and resolving any recurring issues that arise. You will review work instructions and make recommendations for changes as necessary, all while meeting tight production schedules. Additionally, you will assess staffing needs and ensure that your team has the appropriate skill sets to succeed. You will also be responsible for monitoring material costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings, as well as developing and coordinating training programs to enhance team capabilities.
