Job Description

Who you are

You have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and at least 3 years of experience using mechanical and/or electronics. Your background includes working with fluid systems, and you possess the ability to read and interpret schematics, datasheets, and engineering drawings. You are skilled in fabricating and installing fluid system components, including stainless steel and aluminum piping, valves, and pressure regulators. You are adept at troubleshooting and repairing high-urgency operational issues, ensuring that systems operate efficiently and effectively.

You have experience connecting and verifying pressure transducers, thermocouples, and other sensors, and you are comfortable completing necessary wiring for electrical ground support equipment. Your hands-on experience with high-pressure liquid and pneumatic testing makes you a valuable asset in the production environment. You thrive in a collaborative setting, providing feedback to engineers on system design and maintenance, and you are committed to ensuring the highest standards of safety and performance in all tasks.

Desirable

Experience with aerospace or high-tech manufacturing environments is a plus. Familiarity with advanced fluid dynamics and system integration will enhance your ability to contribute to the team. You are proactive in identifying potential issues and suggesting improvements, and you are eager to learn and grow within the role.

What you'll do

As a Fluids Systems Technician at SpaceX, you will be responsible for building, installing, and troubleshooting fluid systems that support the Starship production facility. Your primary responsibilities will include fabricating and installing fluid system components from engineering drawings, ensuring that all installations meet the required specifications and standards. You will adjust, repair, or replace faulty components of ground hardware, test, and integration equipment, playing a crucial role in maintaining operational efficiency.

You will connect and verify various sensors and transducers, ensuring accurate readings and functionality. Your role will also involve completing necessary wiring for electrical ground support equipment, which is essential for the operation of ground systems. You will perform high-pressure liquid and pneumatic testing, identifying any issues that may arise during activation or production usage of fluid systems.

In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will provide valuable feedback to engineers regarding the design and maintenance of fluid systems.
