Who you are

You have extensive experience in antenna design, particularly with small antennas and phased array systems — your background includes hands-on work in RF design and testing, allowing you to tackle complex engineering challenges effectively. You thrive in collaborative environments and are adept at rapidly iterating on designs to meet operational requirements. Your technical expertise is complemented by a strong understanding of software development, enabling you to contribute to digital beamforming systems and other advanced technologies.

You possess a deep understanding of antenna test and design validation processes — you have successfully fabricated and characterized prototypes, ensuring they meet stringent specifications. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you are comfortable debugging issues that arise during the development process. You are passionate about applying your skills to support national security initiatives and are excited about the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology at SpaceX.

Desirable

Experience with government or defense projects is a plus, as is familiarity with the unique challenges associated with national security applications. A background in collaborative engineering projects, particularly those involving cross-functional teams, will help you excel in this role.

What you'll do

As a Principal Antenna Engineer, you will lead the design of advanced antenna and feed systems for next-generation products, focusing on phased array and reflector antennas. You will be responsible for fabricating and characterizing prototypes, ensuring they meet performance standards and operational requirements. Your role will involve contributing to the development of software for testing digital beamforming systems, demonstrating full phased array functionality.

You will collaborate closely with other engineers and teams to set specifications and debug problems, leveraging your expertise to drive projects forward. Your contributions will be critical in iterating rapidly from design to operational capability, ensuring that SpaceX remains at the forefront of technology in support of U.S. National Security efforts.
