Job Description
Who you are
You are a motivated and proactive engineer with a strong background in ASIC design and FPGA development. With at least 5 years of experience in silicon engineering, you have a deep understanding of the complexities involved in designing chips for space applications. Your intellectual curiosity drives you to explore innovative solutions that push the boundaries of technology. You thrive in cross-disciplinary teams, collaborating with systems, firmware, architecture, design, validation, and product engineering to deliver exceptional results.
You possess a solid foundation in digital design principles and are familiar with the latest tools and methodologies in ASIC and FPGA development. Your experience includes working on projects that require high reliability and performance, particularly in challenging environments. You are comfortable navigating the intricacies of silicon design and are adept at problem-solving in a fast-paced engineering context.
Desirable
Experience with satellite communication systems or aerospace applications is a plus. Familiarity with verification methodologies and tools will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team. You are also open to mentoring junior engineers and sharing your knowledge to foster a collaborative learning environment.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for developing next-generation FPGAs and ASICs that are critical for SpaceX's Starlink project. You will engage in the full design cycle, from initial concept through to implementation and testing, ensuring that the chips meet stringent performance and reliability standards. Your work will directly impact the deployment of advanced broadband internet systems that connect users in previously underserved areas.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define specifications and requirements for the silicon components. Your expertise will guide the design process, ensuring that the solutions you develop are not only innovative but also practical and manufacturable. You will also participate in design reviews and provide feedback to enhance the overall quality of the engineering output.
