Job Description
Who you are
You are a motivated and proactive engineer with a strong background in ASIC design and FPGA development. With at least 5 years of experience in hardware engineering, you have a deep understanding of silicon engineering principles and practices. You thrive in cross-disciplinary teams, collaborating with systems, firmware, architecture, and validation engineers to deliver high-quality solutions. Your intellectual curiosity drives you to explore new technologies and methodologies, ensuring that your designs are at the forefront of innovation.
You possess a solid foundation in digital design and are familiar with the latest tools and techniques used in ASIC and FPGA development. Your experience includes working on projects that require a high level of reliability and performance, particularly in challenging environments such as space. You are comfortable with the entire design process, from initial concept through to implementation and testing, and you understand the importance of meeting project deadlines and specifications.
Desirable
Experience with satellite communication systems or broadband technologies is a plus. Familiarity with verification methodologies and tools will enhance your ability to contribute effectively to the team. You are also open to learning new skills and adapting to the evolving needs of the industry, which is crucial in a fast-paced environment like SpaceX.
What you'll do
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing next-generation ASICs and FPGAs that will be deployed in SpaceX's satellite systems and ground infrastructures. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and specifications for new designs, ensuring that they meet the performance and reliability standards necessary for space applications. Your work will involve creating detailed design documentation, conducting simulations, and performing design reviews to validate your work against project goals.
