You have 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering with a strong focus on Linux systems — you've successfully managed and optimized production environments, ensuring high availability and performance. Your deep working knowledge of Kubernetes and related container technologies allows you to design and maintain scalable systems that meet the demands of critical business functions. You thrive in challenging environments and are known for your problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.
Your expertise in automation tools like Ansible and Terraform is complemented by a solid understanding of infrastructure as code principles — you have a proven track record of deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters in production settings. You are a proactive communicator who collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, gathering requirements and translating them into technical solutions that drive business success.
You possess a strong sense of personal responsibility for the systems and processes you create — you understand the importance of building resilient and robust systems that support the ambitious goals of SpaceX. Your ingenuity and self-motivation enable you to excel in a fast-paced environment, where you are always looking for ways to improve and innovate.
Desirable
Experience with container orchestration and management tools beyond Kubernetes, such as Docker Swarm or OpenShift, would be a plus. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus or Grafana can enhance your ability to maintain system health and performance.
What you'll do
As a Senior IT Linux Site Reliability Engineer at SpaceX, you will be responsible for installing, managing, scaling, and optimizing Kubernetes and RKE clusters in production environments. You will work closely with other engineers to gather requirements and design software platforms that meet the needs of SpaceX's engineering teams. Your role will involve researching, evaluating, and implementing new technologies that enhance the performance and reliability of our systems.
You will build highly resilient and scalable systems that support critical business functions, exercising a high degree of personal responsibility for the processes and tools you create.
