Overview
SpaceX is hiring a Senior Hardware / Infrastructure Site Reliability Engineer to design and scale the infrastructure for Starlink, the world's largest satellite constellation. You'll work with technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS to manage a network serving millions of users.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering, with a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure and ensuring high availability. Your expertise in Kubernetes and Docker allows you to deploy and manage containerized applications effectively, while your proficiency in AWS enables you to leverage cloud services for scalability and reliability.
You possess a solid understanding of Linux systems and are comfortable scripting in Python to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency. Your experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure as code tools helps you manage and provision infrastructure seamlessly. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with development teams to ensure that applications are designed with reliability in mind.
Desirable
Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus or Grafana is a plus, as is familiarity with networking concepts and protocols. You are passionate about improving system performance and reliability, and you enjoy tackling complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.
What you'll do
In this role, you will design, operate, and scale the infrastructure that supports Starlink, ensuring that it can handle millions of daily users. You will develop automation solutions to deploy and manage on-premise compute resources, creating highly scalable and maintainable software products. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the reliability and performance of the Starlink network.
