Who you are
You have experience in structural welding and are familiar with the techniques required to fabricate and repair robust structures. You understand the importance of precision in welding, especially in high-stakes environments like aerospace. You are comfortable working on night shifts and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced settings. You are detail-oriented and committed to delivering high-quality results that meet strict safety and operational standards. You are also willing to secure and maintain any necessary internal licenses or certifications to perform your job effectively.
Desirable
Experience with AWS D1.1 and ASME B31.3 standards is a plus, as is familiarity with interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. You may have worked in environments that require adherence to strict quality control measures and understand the significance of maintaining top-tier quality in your work.
What you'll do
As a Structural Welder at SpaceX, you will execute welding assignments and procedures for constructing and repairing site structural stands. Your work will directly support mission-critical timelines, ensuring that the structures you fabricate can withstand extreme launch conditions. You will cut, trim, or scarf metal objects and fit and fabricate components to precise dimensions. Under the supervision of a lead welder, you will interpret engineering drawings and specifications to plan your operations effectively. You will operate hand welding and flame-cutting equipment to join metal components, assembling durable structural forms essential for ground support reliability. Additionally, you will visually inspect your welds to ensure they meet the required standards, maintaining the highest quality with proper training.
