Who you are

You have a strong background in hardware engineering, particularly in managing PCBA processes and products. Your experience includes collaborating with design engineers to understand assembly and subsystem design intent, ensuring that you can effectively support the supply chain needs for the Starshield program.

You are skilled in using tools like Altium Designer and AutoCAD, which are essential for creating and defining technical requirements for suppliers. Your familiarity with embedded Linux systems enhances your ability to assess supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems.

You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to work closely with procurement teams to strategically source parts that align with supplier competencies. Your attention to detail ensures that continuity of supply for electronic products is maintained, meeting the program's volume targets.

Your experience includes implementing and monitoring the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with selected suppliers, which is crucial for maintaining high-quality standards in production. You understand the importance of building reliable in-space mesh networks and secure systems for government use.

Desirable

Experience with electronic manufacturing services (EMS) and knowledge of quality assurance processes would be beneficial. Familiarity with government contracts and compliance standards is also a plus.

What you'll do

As a Supplier Industrialization Engineer at SpaceX, you will own and manage PCBA processes for the Starshield supply chain. This involves ensuring that internal production has the necessary infeed assemblies to meet program-level volume targets. You will collaborate with design engineers to gain a deep understanding of the design intent behind piece parts and assemblies, which will inform your work with suppliers.

You will support the procurement team by strategically sourcing parts that match supplier competencies. This includes reviewing and assessing supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems to ensure they meet SpaceX's high standards. You will create and define technical requirements for suppliers, ensuring that they align with hardware manufacturing needs.

In your role, you will implement and monitor the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) with selected suppliers, enabling a smooth transition from design to production. Your work will directly contribute to the success of the Starshield program, which leverages SpaceX's Starlink technology for national security efforts.
