You have extensive experience in scientific research, particularly in the fields of distributed systems and cryptography — your work has contributed to significant advancements in technology that promote equitable access to financial systems. You are passionate about open-source software and understand the societal impacts of decentralized technologies. Your leadership skills enable you to guide diverse teams and foster collaboration among academic and industry partners.

You possess a strong understanding of mechanism design and its applications in real-world scenarios — you have successfully defined and executed research agendas that align with organizational missions. You are committed to the public good and have a track record of impactful research that drives innovation in the blockchain space.

What you'll do

In this role, you will define and lead a long-term scientific research agenda that supports the mission of the Stellar Development Foundation. You will work closely with a team of researchers and technical experts to explore practical and long-term challenges in blockchain technology. Your responsibilities will include guiding research initiatives, collaborating with external partners, and contributing to the technical foundations that enable inclusive financial infrastructure.

You will also be responsible for shaping the research vision and ensuring that it aligns with broader conversations in computer science and decentralized systems.
