Who you are
You have a strong background in satellite operations and are familiar with the technical aspects of satellite control. Your experience includes monitoring satellite systems and performing scheduled and non-scheduled activities related to satellite operations. You understand the importance of reliability and security in satellite communications and are committed to maintaining high standards in these areas.
You are detail-oriented and possess excellent problem-solving skills, allowing you to quickly address any issues that arise during satellite operations. Your ability to work collaboratively with other teams, including engineering and customer service, ensures that you can effectively manage the complexities of satellite control. You are adaptable and can thrive in a fast-paced environment where precision is critical.
What you'll do
As a Satellite Controller at Telesat, you will be responsible for monitoring and controlling satellites owned by Telesat and those operated on behalf of other communication service providers. You will perform all scheduled and non-scheduled activities associated with the operation of Telesat-operated satellites, ensuring they function optimally and meet customer needs. Your role will involve working closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that may arise.
You will also be tasked with maintaining accurate records of satellite operations and performance metrics, contributing to the continuous improvement of operational processes. Your expertise will help Telesat deliver reliable and secure satellite communications solutions to a diverse range of customers, including government and corporate clients. You will play a key role in supporting the launch and operation of Telesat Lightspeed, the company's revolutionary Low Earth Orbit satellite network, set to begin service in 2027.
