Who you are

You have expert-level knowledge in satellite-based RF communications, particularly at the physical and Layer Two levels. Your understanding extends to protocol Layers 3 and above, ensuring you can navigate complex systems with ease. You are well-versed in DVB-S2 protocols, including DVB-RCS2 and DVB-S2X, and possess a thorough understanding of RF and communications systems theories. Your experience includes exposure to Adaptive Coding and Modulation techniques, which are crucial for optimizing satellite communications.

In addition to your technical expertise, you have a solid grasp of active antenna beam forming technologies, including digital beam forming and fast beam hopping. You are familiar with general phased array antenna modeling and performance, which is essential for the innovative projects at Telesat. Your background includes working in a Systems Engineering environment, where you have utilized Systems Engineering products to facilitate the orderly progression from requirements through design and implementation.

What you'll do

As a Senior SatCom RF Systems Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of satellite communication systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that all systems meet the required specifications and performance standards. Your role will involve analyzing system requirements and translating them into technical specifications that guide the development process.

You will also be tasked with conducting performance evaluations and testing of satellite communication systems, ensuring they operate efficiently under various conditions. Your expertise will be critical in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during the development and deployment phases. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them grow in their roles.
