Who you are

You have expert-level knowledge and expertise in large-scale space-based 'Systems of Systems', particularly in the communications and networking domains. Your experience includes development and deployment, and you are well-versed in the use of Systems Engineering products to facilitate the orderly progression from requirements through design, implementation, verification, and deployment. You thrive in a Systems Engineering environment and have a strong understanding of how to partition functions between hardware and software domains to maximize performance.

You possess a solid background in developing requirements specifications, design documents, and technical performance budgets. Your ability to collaborate with development teams ensures that all aspects of the system are well-integrated and function seamlessly. You are familiar with the challenges of working on satellite communications systems and understand the importance of reliability and performance in this field.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of requirements specifications and design documents for Telesat's satellite communications systems. You will work closely with engineers to ensure that all system components are effectively integrated and that performance goals are met. Your expertise will guide the team in making system-level interface trade-offs, ensuring that both hardware and software components work together efficiently.

You will also be involved in the creation of CONOPs (Concept of Operations) that outline how the satellite systems will operate in real-world scenarios. Your role will require you to engage with various stakeholders, including development teams and management, to communicate technical requirements and performance expectations clearly. You will play a key role in the verification and validation processes, ensuring that the systems meet all necessary specifications before deployment.
