Who you are

You have a strong background in machine learning and deep learning, with experience in designing and implementing architectures for large multimodal models. Your expertise in frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow allows you to optimize model training and deployment effectively. You understand the nuances of distributed training workflows and can handle large-scale datasets with ease.

You are skilled in developing end-to-end training pipelines, including data loading, preprocessing, and model training. Your ability to monitor and debug training processes ensures that you can identify and resolve performance bottlenecks efficiently. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with engineers and data scientists to integrate knowledge into model architectures.

Desirable

Experience with cloud GPU fleets and optimizing performance across distributed systems is a plus. Familiarity with precision medicine and healthcare applications will help you contribute meaningfully to Tempus' mission.

What you'll do

In this role, you will contribute to the design and definition of the architecture of large multimodal models, considering various fusion strategies and modality-specific processing. You will implement, refine, benchmark, and optimize model architectures using deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Your responsibilities will include developing and managing end-to-end training pipelines, architecting and deploying distributed training workflows, and implementing strategies to handle large-scale datasets.

You will experiment with different approaches to enhance the model's understanding and reasoning abilities through knowledge integration. Collaborating with the knowledge integration engineer, you will ensure that the architecture can effectively fuse knowledge with multimodal representations. Your work will directly impact the healthcare industry by providing actionable insights to physicians, ultimately improving patient care.
