Who you are

You have a strong background in additive manufacturing, particularly in Directed Energy Deposition (DED) processes, with a focus on aerospace applications. Your experience includes leading technology development and industrialization efforts, ensuring that manufacturing workflows are efficient and effective. You are skilled in working with high-performance alloys and have a deep understanding of design for additive manufacturing (DfAM) principles.

You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can guide design teams to ensure manufacturability and performance of complex aerospace components. Your technical expertise is complemented by strong communication skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. You are passionate about advancing aerospace technology and are eager to contribute to innovative projects that have a significant impact on space exploration.

What you'll do

In this role, you will be the technology owner for Directed Energy Deposition at The Exploration Company. You will lead the development and scaling of DED capabilities for critical aerospace components, including propulsion systems. Your responsibilities will include defining and implementing manufacturing workflows across design, deposition, post-processing, inspection, and certification. You will establish robust DED process windows for various high-performance alloys, guiding the design teams on DfAM to ensure optimal manufacturability and performance.

You will work closely with engineering teams to create and qualify DED processes that meet the stringent requirements of aerospace applications. Your role will have a direct impact on TEC's flight hardware and manufacturing strategy, shaping the future production roadmap for the company. You will also be involved in mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
