Who you are

You have a strong background in software engineering, particularly in safety-critical systems, and are motivated to contribute to the development of innovative space technologies. Your experience includes working on verification and validation (V&V) activities, ensuring that software meets stringent functional, performance, and safety requirements. You are familiar with requirements management and tracing, ensuring full traceability from system-level requirements to software implementation and verification artifacts. You have a solid understanding of C++ and Python, which allows you to engage meaningfully in software design and testing discussions. You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy interfacing with various teams, including software development, system engineering, and certification bodies.

Desirable

Experience with formal standards and safety reviews is a plus, as is familiarity with NASA Safety Reviews. You are detail-oriented and have a knack for preparing and reviewing documentation required for software certification. Your ability to interpret and tailor formal standards will be invaluable in this role.

What you'll do

In this role, you will contribute to V&V and Independent V&V (IV&V) activities, ensuring that the flight software for the Nyx program meets all necessary requirements. You will support requirements management and tracing, ensuring that every requirement is accounted for and verified throughout the software development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include preparing and reviewing documentation for software certification and participating in NASA Safety Reviews. You will collaborate closely with internal Product Assurance teams and work daily with system engineers and software development teams to resolve technical issues and clarify requirements. Your expertise in C++ and Python will be essential as you engage in software design and testing discussions, helping to ensure that the Nyx program achieves its ambitious goals.
