Who you are

5+ years of backend engineering experience building production systems at scale — you've owned services from design through deployment and have tackled complex distributed systems challenges. You possess deep expertise in Python and have experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes, ensuring that your applications are scalable and resilient.

You have a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly with AWS, and are comfortable working with REST APIs to integrate various services. Your experience with Docker allows you to create and manage containerized applications effectively, streamlining the development and deployment processes.

You thrive in collaborative environments, partnering with product teams to understand functional requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. Your ability to write clear, well-tested, and maintainable software is complemented by your knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, ensuring that your systems are robust and easily manageable.

Desirable

Experience with distributed GPU scheduling systems and managing data center compute, networking, and storage would be a plus. Familiarity with machine learning infrastructure and tools can enhance your contributions to the team.

What you'll do

As a Senior Backend Engineer at Together AI, you will play a key role in building the AI Acceleration Cloud, an end-to-end platform for the full generative AI lifecycle. You will identify, design, and develop foundational backend services that power Together’s commerce platform, ensuring high availability and performance across a global infrastructure.

You will analyze and improve the robustness and scalability of existing distributed systems, APIs, databases, and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include designing and building new customer-facing cloud platform services that deliver enterprise AI cloud features, enhancing the overall user experience.

You will collaborate closely with product teams to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions. Writing clear and maintainable code will be essential, as will your ability to implement Infrastructure as Code practices for both new and existing systems.
