You possess deep knowledge of security frameworks and methodologies, including S-SDLC, Threat Modeling, and Pentesting — your expertise allows you to architect robust security solutions that protect both customer-facing products and internal tools. You are familiar with the latest trends in AI and how they impact security, particularly in the context of natural language interfaces.

You are a strategic thinker who can balance innovation with security — you thrive in environments where you can drive a 'shift left' security culture, integrating automated security tooling and 'Security as Code' solutions into development processes. Your leadership style fosters collaboration and encourages team members to take ownership of security practices.

You have excellent communication skills, enabling you to act as a liaison between security, engineering, and product teams — you can articulate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders and drive cross-functional initiatives that enhance security posture.

What you'll do

As the Director of Product Security Engineering, you will own the overall strategy and roadmap for the Product Security and Security Engineering programs — your leadership will guide the development of scalable security frameworks for authentication, authorization, and encryption. You will oversee the integration of security practices into the development lifecycle, ensuring that security is a built-in feature of everything Navan builds.

You will lead efforts to secure the next generation of Navan products, focusing on the security implications of AI-driven workflows and LLM-integrated interfaces — your insights will help shape the security architecture of innovative products. You will also be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams, fostering a culture of security awareness and excellence.

You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to drive risk remediation and ensure 'Security by Design' — your role will involve regular assessments of security risks and the implementation of effective mitigation strategies. You will also be involved in scaling the security function by integrating automated security tooling into the CI/CD pipeline, enhancing the overall security posture of the organization.
