Job Description

Who you are

You have a strong background in systems engineering, with experience in developing and integrating complex systems across various domains. You are skilled in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python, which you have used to create and maintain software for flight systems. Your ability to gather, analyze, and refine requirements is complemented by your experience in translating mission objectives into actionable technical performance measures. You thrive in collaborative environments, working closely with cross-disciplinary teams to ensure that all system requirements are met and that risks are effectively managed. You have a keen eye for detail and are adept at maintaining clear, traceable links between requirements and verification artifacts. You understand the importance of feedback and lessons learned from existing missions, and you actively seek to incorporate this knowledge into future designs. Your leadership skills enable you to coordinate milestones and deliverables effectively, ensuring that projects stay on track and meet customer expectations.

What you'll do

As a Flight Systems Engineer at Turion Space, you will be responsible for driving the development and integration of systems across the spacecraft. This includes overseeing the flight software, Guidance, Navigation, Control (GNC), and propulsion teams. You will serve as the primary integrator between flight systems, collaborating with various teams to determine system requirements and track risks. Your role will involve planning projects, defining interfaces, and leading system verification efforts. You will gather and analyze requirements across the spacecraft, ensuring that they align with mission objectives and performance criteria. Additionally, you will develop and maintain system-level design budgets, such as power, pointing, mass, and data, while ensuring that all requirements are traceable and verifiable. You will also collaborate with the ground software and mission operations teams to collect feedback and lessons learned from existing missions, using this information to inform future designs. Your responsibilities will include organizing and executing design technical reviews, including System Architecture Reviews with customers and internal design reviews. You will identify and document internal and external dependencies, such as vendor-provided systems, to ensure that all aspects of the project are accounted for.

What we offer

At Turion Space, we offer a dynamic work environment where innovation and collaboration are at the forefront of our mission.
