Turion Space is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer to design, develop, and test spacecraft systems and subsystems. You'll work on all phases of a satellite’s product lifecycle, requiring expertise in aerospace and systems engineering.
Job Description
Who you are
You have 6+ years of experience in spacecraft systems engineering, with a strong background in spacecraft design and integration. Your hands-on experience allows you to derive and maintain system requirements effectively, ensuring mission success. You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field, which has equipped you with the necessary technical foundation. Your ability to create system-level budgets and track them throughout the project lifecycle is a key asset. You thrive in collaborative environments, working with multiple teams and disciplines to achieve project goals. Additionally, you are capable of obtaining a Secret and/or a TS/SCI clearance, which is essential for this role.
Desirable
Experience with satellite design and integration is highly valued, as is familiarity with the derivation and maintenance of requirements from a system level down to a lower level. Your proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders will enhance your effectiveness in defining mission ConOps and ensuring compliance with system performance needs.
What you'll do
As a Spacecraft Systems Engineer at Turion Space, you will be responsible for pushing the technical design for critical satellite programs forward. You will derive and maintain system requirements to ensure that all realized systems meet the desired function, performance, and reliability of the mission at hand. Your role will involve working closely with multi-disciplinary experts to develop subsystem budgets and test planning for verification activities. You will track system compliance and overall performance to meet mission needs, ensuring that all aspects of the spacecraft systems are designed, developed, and tested effectively. Your contributions will be vital in all phases of a satellite’s product lifecycle, from proposal and concept through initial and final design to testing and final operations.
